Rafting The Salt River Canyon
2-day & 4-day arizona river trips

Two-Day and Four-Day Itinerary

Day One

Two-day trip participants meet at Base Camp at 10:00am. Lucky four-day trip guests will be picked up at your hotel in Globe at 8:15am. At the Base Camp, check in, load waterproof gear bags and receive safety orientation and boating instruction. Then hit the river for the warm-up rapids of "Baptism", "Island', "Wall Shot", "Bump and Grind", "Grumman", "Mother Rock", and "Overboard". Stop for lunch at "Second Camp" and enjoy a hot grilled lunch prepared by our staff. Sit back, relax and enjoy the scenic beauty! After lunch, hold on and paddle hard as you hit "Exhibition". Then prepare for "Cibecue" Rapid."wow"! Stop for an unbelievable hike up Cibecue canyon. Re-load rafts and head for a remote beach where you will relax in our deluxe camp. Enjoy quiet fishing and/or hiking as your guides prepare a delicious steak & salmon dinner. After dinner, relax around the fire, under the stars and share stories of adventures with friends and family, while our professional, highly trained and educated guides provide entertainment of their own!

Day Two

Enjoy a hearty breakfast, load rafts and float past the sacred Salt Banks. Tackle "Ledges Rapid" and stop for short, gorgeous hike to "Walnut Falls". Enter the White Rock Canyon with its walls of polished white granite. Stop for our all you can eat, deli style lunch. After lunch, splash through "Rock Garden", "Rat Trap", "White Rock", "Granite" and "Canyon Creek". After "Canyon Creek", the canyon opens up and we reach our 2-day take out at "Gleason Flats". Our 2- day guests regrettably wave good-bye to their fortunate 4-day trip companions as they head down stream for two more unbelievable, invigorating nights under the stars. Two-day guests travel back to their vehicles on a spectacular class V ride high-up on the canyon rim in our custom 4x4 tour vehicle! Return to your vehicle around 5:00 pm, renewed and inspired from having visited this magical place. Guests continuing on the river get to enjoy another night of deluxe camping, delicious food, and stories and traditions provided by our multi-talented guides!

Day Three

Awesome whitewater awaits ahead with the invigorating class IV "Black Rock", the renowned "Quartzite Falls" and "Corkscrew" along with numerous class III rapids throughout the day. A major highlight is the day's hike up the clear waters of Cherry Creek. The canyon continues to change and evolve as we journey downstream, opening and closing, as if never content to let the river proceed smoothly. Tonight is the last night in camp and the guides pull out all the stops with gourmet, fresh baked, Dutch oven treats and top-notch catering to your needs.

Day Four

The canyon walls slowly open and the whitewater slows to class 2 and 3 as we reflect on what has been an awesome journey of discovery and fun. The take out is reached by 3:30pm and you are returned to Globe by 5:00 pm, invigorated and exhilarated by your visit to this magnificent canyon of the Upper Salt River.
