The two-day trip combining both the Upper and Lower Box's cannot be matched in beauty, excitement and adventure. The Piedra River is a very highly restricted and regulated river.

Itinerary**

• Meet at the Piedra River Store at 9:00 AM or our Durango Office at 7:30 AM
• Check in, sign release forms, get dressed for the river!  Wetsuits and Booties rentals are required all season. For more on what to wear click here.
• Shuttle to river for safety orientation.
• Hit the river!
• Enjoy the technical class II splashes as the river builds in volume.
• Devourer a delicious riverside lunch
• Get back on the river for more class II+ action
• Tackle the class IV rapids of "lone pine" and "lime stone"
• Relax and enjoy the breathtaking wilderness
• Arrive at camp
• Take a hike or relax around the campfire while guides prepair your dinner
• Campout under the Colorado's brillant night sky!
• Wake up to a hearty breakfast
• Get back on the river for class II & III rapids that serve as a warm up for your day!
• Hit class IV "Big Drop rapid".
• Bounce through more class II+ rapids.
• Scout & thread "Eye of the Needle" another class IV+.
• Scout (with possible portage) "Mud Slide" rapid a class IV+ or Class V (at high water).
• Finish your morning with "Climax" rapid, your final class IV of the day!
• Devourer a delicious riverside lunch and soak in the natural hot springs.
• Get back on the river for more class II+ action
• Relax and enjoy the breathtaking wilderness
• Take out and shuttle back!
• Arrive back to your car at approximately 3:00 PM.
